I have read how a number of people talk about how it’s a good idea to have radios such as the Baofeng UV-5R, or a radio which picks up shortwave radio like the Eton Elite 750 Shortwave Radio, or the Xiegu G90 HF Radio.
It’s not my idea of a good time to drive two hours away and fork over $$$ to sit in a .gov library to take a test in order to get a HAM license.
Perhaps, just owning such radios & knowing how to use them might be The Thing to do?
I don’t know. What’s your take?
