    Yesterday 30L of supermarket E10 gasoline/petrol cost me £42.57.
    Current economy per the car’s fuel computer is 45.5 mpg.

    Purchased at;
    Tesco
    Irvine
    Scotland

    While the price has come down from 6 months ago it’s still way higher than a year ago.

    In reality, the purchasing power of a GB pound has decreased, a bunch.

    I remember in 1999 when I was with my folks in Lenoir NC a new station opened and a bit of a price war was going on.
    89 cents a gallon
    Where’s my time m/c and a jerrycan?

    Though its come down a bit, it can still be a little over $3 a gallon here in my part of the US. I paid $1.31 at the lowest price point during Trumps term. Its insane how they want us to pay that much for gas, there is no reason outside of politics. If it wasn’t for the government, it would likely be about 75 cents a gallon in my area.

    Ya got me to thinking about the Gas Wars of the 1980’s when gasoline stations would vie for business by offering lower and lower prices for gasoline compared to their competitors. It was a bit like a game, going around town finding who had lowered the price of their gasoline the most.

    …Did that happen everywhere else back then, too?
