Your Favorite Car – and Why?

Most of us have a favorite car – or four. Which are yours – and why?

I’ll start with an oddball choice – my ’69 VW Squareback. I bought it when I was still in college and needed a cheap car that was also a car that was cheap to keep up. The VW qualified on both counts. It was also the first fuel injected car I ever owned – despite it being as old as it was. The only thing it ever needed from me other than gas and occasionally some oil was a swift kick planted on the driver’s side rear quarter panel. This reset some electronic thing that was related to the Bosch FI system that sometimes balked and then the engine would not start. I learned that by kicking the poor VW in that spot, the engine would start!
