Mr. Kohlmayer makes some good points in his article but one of the main issues with my post isn’t what kind of political philosophy some group espouses or where someone stands on the left-right political spectrum, which Kohlmayer correctly points out is outdated & useless. It’s that way too many people live in a kind of delusional & oversimplified world which allows for lazy/sloppy thinking, believing false assumptions, and spending as little time possible searching for the easy way out solution to problems which are intricate & complicated. It seems like it’s become a mass psychosis as the general population all too often falls for lies which are repeated over and over and finally accepted as mainstream thought. Far too many people are intellectually lazy and it’s now so widespread you could call it a pandemic it seems to me. People nowadays simply refuse to put much thought & effort finding answers to those tough questions about life. That is unless they’re trying to figure out how to scam someone.
But what’s really discouraging about all this is the high percentage of people supposedly on our side that fall into that category. Sure, most of those on the dark side of the force are guilty of those traits in spades, but when you realize the problem is that serious with those on our side it’s enough to make you want to give up hope and resign from humanity. Maybe it’s time to jump off this sinking ship?
